Bayern Munich are linked with summer moves for Timo Werner and Leroy Sane as they look to upgrade their squad with international talent.

The German club are looking to add two players this summer.

"We want to strengthen ourselves with a top talent from Europe and also bring an international star to Munich, who enhances the quality of our team and helps the team to offer our spectators strong and attractive football," said sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic.

Bayern currently top the Bundesliga table, with the league reportedly close to resuming in May.

Jose Mourinho reportedly reached out to Thomas Meunier to try to convince the right-back to move to Tottenham.

Meunier, who will be a free agent this summer, had agreed to personal terms with Borussia Dortmund.

Daniel Levy is said to not be convinced by the 28-year-old, and wants to bring down the average age of the squad.

Meunier is still likely to sign for Dortmund despite Mourinho's efforts. 

Chelsea are monitoring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's contract situation with Arsenal and could make a move for him.

Chelsea will pursue a striker this transfer window and also have Moussa Dembele and Timo Werner on their list. Chelsea view Aubameyang as a less expensive alternative.

Contract talks between Aubameyang and Arsenal have stalled. It is not clear if Arsenal would sell Aubameyang to a domestic rival. 

Chelsea are considering a loan deal for Philippe Coutinho as an alternative to Jadon Sancho. Chelsea fear Sancho will join Manchester United.

Coutinho is on loan at Bayern Munich from Barcelona. Bayern are unwilling to meet a £97 million buyout clause they agreed for Coutinho, who is already planning for life away from the club with his agent Kia Joorabchian sounding out possible suitors.

Barcelona would prefer to sell Coutinho. 

In addition to targeting high profile managers, the prospective owners of Newcastle United will be aggressive on the transfer market.

Newcastle has already been in touch with the agents of Dries Mertens and Edison Cavani. Willian is another target for Newcastle.

Lionel Messi, Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Frenkie de Jong are the only players who are safe from Barcelona's summer transfer plans, sources told ESPN.

Preside Josep Maria Bartomeu will look to make player swaps instead of outright purchases to upgrade the squad.

"There is not going to be as much money in the transfer market because of the pandemic. But I predict that we are going to see a lot more swap deals," said Bartomeu.

The club remain linked with potential moves for Neymar and Lautaro Martinez.

Barcelona are also looking for a long-term replacement for Gerard Pique.

Manchester United remain interested in Jack Grealish despite his COVID-19 lockdown break.

Grealish, 24, apologized for attending a friend's party.

Aston Villa are likely to demand upwards of £60 million for Grealish, who is under contract until 2023.

While United also have interest in James Maddison, there is a feeling that Grealish is more attainable. 

Manchester United will continue to seek a transfer for Harry Kane despite Tottenham Hotspur's continued position they will not sell him to a domestic rival.

Daniel Levy is reportedly open to selling Kane if they receive an offer of £200 million.

Last month, Kane said he will not stay at Spurs "just for the sake of it."

Levy warned "people need to wake up to the enormity" of the crisis caused by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic after Tottenham became one of the first clubs to furlough staff.

Lautaro Martinez's agent said that there was a "big chance" that his client would move to Barcelona this summer.

Martinez has frequently been linked with Barcelona due to his desire to play with Lionel Messi.

"With Lionel Messi there, I think there is a bit more of a chance of him going to be with the greatest of all," said Sergio Zarate.

Zarate also responded to Javier Zanetti's claims that Martinez would stay at Inter.

"They can think all they want, but it's the market that decides these things," said Zarate.

"When the giants of Europe want a player, they go with everything."

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in a move for RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano on the recommendation of Zinedine Zidane.

The 21-year-old's contract runs through 2021.

RB Leipzig have already earmarked replacements for Upamecano, including Nice's Malang Sarr and PSG's Tanguy Kouassi.
